A carbon tubbed Italian takeover this week
Watch this modified Alfa 1750 GTV dance around a warehouse, masterfully meandering to the music and perilously pirouetting around pillars. A true Italian masterpiece.
Car of the week 💰
If the Alfa 4C is a mini supercar, then the Alfa 8C is the full-fat thoroughbred supercar. Even more stunning, even more cylinders, even more money…about £200k more in fact. However with only 500 ever made, it’s no surprise that it commands a serious premium. Personally, I think it’s one of the most beautiful made in (relatively) recent time, despite looking modern, it already looked like a classic when it was released.
Website of the week 💻
Carevents.com does exactly what it says on the tin. If you find yourself with a day going spare then there’s likely to be an event listed on there nearby which you could swing by. Worth adding to the bookmarks.
Small screen scene 📺
Sticking with the Alfa theme, Larry Chen from Hagerty (I know, I promise it won’t be Hagery every week!) visits Totem Automobili who build ‘restomod’ Alfas, but that doesn’t really do justice to what they actually do - this is a ground-up build with a full carbon fibre tub. The attention to detail is mind-blowing.
Seen in the wild 👀
A recent ‘car of the week’ feature has now been spotted in the wild too. It may have been adorned with bird poo, but the Alfa 4C really does look like a mini supercar. Seeing it in the flesh only confirms that at sub-£40k, it looks like a bit of a bargain.
