Bringing a whole new meaning to 'building' a car

Does your car need a significant repair? Are you a bricklayer? Well, this video might inspire you to give it a go! Just a bit of fun, but it’s actually quite impressive.

The BMW Z1 was build between 1989–1991 and featured very unusual sliding doors that retract vertically into its body. Unusually, it also had removable thermoplastic panels meaning you could change it’s colour. It shares components with the E30 and therefore isn’t that fast, 0-60 takes 7.9 seconds and it tops out at 140mph. Le't’s be honest you’re buying it for the doors though, aren’t you… .Only 8,000 units were made, making this a rare opportunity, which also explains the £58k price tag.

Supercar Ron (AKA Brad Bonham) shows you around his car collection worth over $17m. I’ve only recently become aware of this collection, but it’s pretty incredible. What makes it stand out to me is that a number of cars can’t simply be bought, they’re rare enough that they very rarely come up for sale. Can you imagine having a garage with an Aston Martin Valkyrie, Ferrari F40, Lexus LFA and Lamborghini Sterrato? No me neither.

Hot off the press đź“°

Revisit the Alfa SZ in this article from CAR magazine. I for one am a fan. “One of the most controversial and divisive cars, let alone Alfas, ever made, it looks like something conjured from Dante’s A-Z of demonic cars. It also sounds like the Beast of Exmoor having a mournful cry. As we dive deep into this dark and mysterious corner of the English countryside, the exuberant blare from its Busso V6 reverberates around the small quaint villages, heralding the SZ’s coming with a plaintive warcry.”

This isn’t as rare or unusual as some of the other cars I’ve shared, maybe it’s the location that makes this more curious. It’s always parked opposite my local tip. Knowing that Bentleys of a similar age are often available for under £10k it got me wondering whether the early RR Phantom’s had fallen victim to the same level of depreciation. Here are the cheapest available on Auto Trader at the moment.
