I can't believe they're legal either...
For the sake of this newsletter I will reserve judgement, but those gel plates just got more…well more of whatever they were. You can now get the 3D gel plates cut out to follow the contours of the characters on the plate, like bubble writing. I’m surprised that they’re legal, but apparently they are. How long until every car with a pops & bangs remap is adorned with this ‘upgrade’?

It’s hard to believe, but the original Audi TT is now more than 25 years old. To my eyes, it looks as good as the day it was released and is surely fast approaching ‘modern classic’ status. Bonham’s online auctions offer a wide range of cars to do some online tyre kicking; from a Holland & Holland Range Rover with an inbuilt gun cabinet to a Maserati Khamsin, you’re likely to find something to pique your interest.

Looking like something straight out of the Cars franchise, the lunatics at Gas Monkey Garage fitted a V8 into a tiny (rusty) Fiat. The view from the rear is hilarious, almost the full width of the car is tyre. Looks like a lot of fun, but also looks like it could tear itself apart.

A good example of ‘if you know you know’, it could easily be overlooked by the casual but the straight-6 majesty of the Datsun 240Z is a rare spot in the UK. There are only a couple currently listed on Pistonheads and they start at around £50k, more than you thought, right? If you want to learn more about the original Z car and why they demand such a premium, you can check out Hagerty’s full review here.
