Camperghini to Chevvy V8 - Your weekly dose of automotive nourishment

Would you sell everything you own to travel the world in a Lamborghini?

Social spotlight 📱

This guy sold all his possessions, then bought 1 almighty possession…a Lamborghini Urus. He’s converted it into a campervan of sorts, named it the Camperghini and is currently travelling the world living in his car. Living the dream. I think?

Car of the week 💰

A Ford Escort, of sorts. It comes with next to no description, which is criminal - this deserves more than a description, it deserves an explanation! What I can decipher is that it’s got a Chevy big block V8 engine putting out over 600bhp. It also has what looks to be a drag racing parachute attached to the back of the car. Road legal? Unclear, but I suspect not.

Small screen scene 📺

It was within living memory that SUVs were off-roaders, they were slow diesels that were capable on the mucky stuff. Now we have 4 SUVs lining up for a drag race that would put supercars to shame. 3 out of the 4 cars are from the same stable of brands, while the Ferrari stands out as the only naturally aspirated, but how will it fare on the drag strip against its German rivals?

Hot off the press 📰

Sticking with the theme of sickening fast SUVs, Auto Express have collated a list of the fastest SUVs in the world. Unsurprisingly a number of them are electric, but there are a number of massive engines in there too, hurtling these behemoths to 60 in around 3 seconds and continuing to nearly 200mph. Mind boggling.

Seen in the wild 👀

I spotted this Ferrari Purosangue parked on a pavement in Preston, of all places. Apparently Purosangue roughly translates as thoroughbred, are Ferrari trying to convince us or is it truly a thoroughbred prancing horse? It certainly has presence, and to be honest, I liked it in this spec. Given the demand, they’re still commanding a very high price on Auto Trader, if you were tempted.
