Car or Cheese - Your weekly dose of automotive nourishment

Playing catch up on some car week content

Car of the week 💰

This BMW 2002 looks incredibly clean, the seller is offering an extended 3 year warranty on the car too, which is pretty incredible for a car that’s 40 years old. I love the idea of putting an E46 M3 straight 6 into one of these.

Small screen scene 📺

Two Dead Centre headed over to Monterey Car Week, and in this second channel video they highlight some of the more unusual and special vehicles they saw. I’m grateful to my uncle for introducing me to Monterey Car Week a few years back, it was an amazing experience, I can confirm that it’s as unbelievable as it looks - surely the best car event in the world.

Podcast of the week 🎙️

This was a good episode, an enjoyable listen. The particular highlight was Cheese or Car, where you have to guess if the name being mentioned is of a British car manufacturer or a British cheese. Much harder than you would imagine.

Hot off the press 📰

Granted, this is a particularly niche article, but most of these special editions are pretty cool (not convinced by the GTI Cab). Classic Driver round up the 5 rarest Polos, do you recognise any of them?

Seen in the wild 👀

I spotted this very tidy E30 saloon parked on a street in Lyon. I subsequently learnt (from a far better informed friend) that yellow lights were a legal requirement in France Between 1937 and 1993 because they reduced glare, who knew, they look cool though. E30 values were certainly climbing at one point, I’m not sure they’re climbing at the same rate now but there aren’t any bargains floating around.
