Top Gear aim to burst your eardrums with their latest tunnel run project
Capturing car culture 📱
It’s hard to overlook Girardo & Co. due to their almost unrivaled access to some of the rarest cars ever made, like the beautiful 206 Dino below. Even if it’s just for their annual Christmas vid (if you haven’t seen them, check ‘em out!) they have to be worth a follow.
Car of the week 💰
At the time of release, the Alfa 4C was criticised for a jittery ride and darty unpredictable steering. However, it looks like a mini-supercar, has a carbon tub and there are now solutions to those ride and handling difficulties - all of this from around £35k with prices at least stable, possibly rising. Hard to ignore.

You want a fast estate, you’ve decided on an RS6, but you can’t decide which generation suits you best? Worry not, The Intercooler have driven them all back to back (albeit with tyre issues!) and can talk you through the evolution and improvements through the ages. What struck me most was quite how wide the latest generation looks compared to the others, I can imagine some heart-in-mouth moments on tight residential streets.
Worth a listen 🎙️
The Top Gear crew discuss the latest video series for their YouTube channel, they’ve gained access to a Victorian railway tunnel that’s recently been tarmacked by the same team that did Silverstone and is to be used by race teams for testing. Except Top Gear are using it for tunnel run audible hooliganism. They discuss the details of this project on this episode of the podcast, the first video in the series has now been released and can be checked out here.
Seen in the wild 👀
A cool cat in a cool car. The missing hubcap lets it down a little, but it’s a sign that it’s used which is what we like to see. I’ll be honest, I’m not very familiar with the nomenclature of Mercedes of this era, but Google suggests that this is a W111 280 SE. The price range for this model is wide, I don’t know what makes which one special, but for anywhere between £30k - £300k you too could look like a cool cat.
