Would you dare get under a car on a homemade ramp?
This homemade vehicle ramp gives me incredible levels of anxiety. For the time and cost of making this, surely a trolley jack and axel stands would be on the cards!
Car of the week 💰
The Autozam AZ-1 is a mid-engine, gullwing-door kei car made by Mazda under Autozam in 1992–1994. It features a 657cc turbocharged engine and a lightweight fiberglass-reinforced body, in this case complimented by a carbon fibre bonnet. The tachometer goes up to 11k which looks like a lot of fun, although the asking price is quite punchy.

DK Engineering have created another relatable user’s guide, meaning you can finally use your Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 to its full extent. As unlikely as it is that this advice actually comes in handy, it’s fascinating to get a detailed walk around some of the more mundane ceremonies involved in owning an incredibly exclusive car. Even the engine start-up is unusually, it kinda half starts for a few seconds…then fully barks into life.

“This is the Lanzante 95-59, a lightweight V8 supercar developed and built to a) celebrate the company’s Le Mans win 30 years ago, but more importantly b) make you giddy with joy because you get to sit in the middle.”

Another spot in Monaco, this time a KTM X-Bow outside the Monte Carlo casino. They must be incredibly rare because I can only find one for sale at the point of writing this, it’s listed at £49k. Evo writes “It produces 237bhp, which is capable of propelling the X-Bow to 62mph in under 4sec and to 100mph in under 9sec. Impressive figures for a car which, at 790kg, is getting on for 300kg heavier than the likes of the Ariel Atom and Caterham 7. Suspension is by double wishbones all round, with inboard, push-rod operated spring/damper units up front, while the underfloor is designed to generate positive downforce that can help you reach up to 1.5g cornering on road-legal tyres”
