Larry Chen to Lancias - Your weekly dose of automotive nourishment

Larry Chen's passion is infectious and excitement justified at another incredible underground car meet.

Capturing car culture 📱

This post from WorldAutomotive captures the moment that Le Mans race cars switch from pure electric power to the raw savagery of their combustion engines - a distinct contrast. Watch with the sound on!

Car of the week đź’°

How much value can a previous owner add to the value of a car? A lot, apparently. This NSX is currently advertised on Auto Trader for ÂŁ500k, while other NSXs are in the range of ÂŁ60k - ÂŁ85k, that’s quite a hefty premium, so who was the previous owner? They played a part in the development of the car and are still recognised as one of the best Formula 1 drivers of all time, it was of course…Ayrton Senna! If it sells for close to the asking price, it would be around double the current record sale price for an NSX.

Website of the week đź’»

How Many Left uses data directly from the DVLA, allowing you to search for any make and model and see how many are registered on the road in the UK, or registered as SORN. You can identify some unicorn cars in there and spot some interesting trends, for instance, in the example below you can see that there are almost as many Lotus Elises listed as SORN as are registered for road use.

Small screen scene đź“ş

Larry Chen exudes passion as he captures Japan’s underground car culture in what he calls “Tokyo Drift in real life”. It’s impossible to do justice to the variety of vehicles at these from manufacturer concepts to Lamborghini Diablos to the cartoonish Kaido racers.

Seen in the wild đź‘€

It’s incredibly rare to see a Lancia Delta Integrale in the wild, and although its rally routes should equip it well to cope with the damp conditions underfoot I’m less convinced that the 90’s Italian steel will handle the inclement conditions quite as well. These cars have rocketed in value, there are a handful listed on Auto Trader and all approaching £100k.
