Big mileage to big discounts - Your weekly dose of automotive nourishment

Want an Italian thoroughbred but need a van? We got you

Social spotlight 📱

So you like Alfa Romeos but you need the loading capacity of a van, the 156 GTA Sportswagon doesn’t quite cut it, well let me put your mind to rest with this Alfa Romeo F12. In true Italian style steering wheel is about 6 inches offset from where the pedals are, the gearstick is practically behind the seat but the engine sound (especially for a van) is 👌 Beats a transit any day.

Car of the week 💰

This is far from a recommendation, just an observation. Fisker recently filed for bankruptcy, so maybe it should be no surprise that their nearly new Fisker Ocean is selling at a hugely discounted price. I understand that they’re prone to electrical gremlins and support will now be hard-to-impossible to find so you could be landed with a rather expensive and frankly inconvenient paperweight. If though, you’re lucky enough to stumble across one in good working order, they are incredibly cheap for an electric SUV that’s under a year old, has 564bhp, does 0-60 in under 4 seconds and has a range of over 400 miles. The reviews all seem ok (when they work) too, would you take the gamble?

Small screen scene 📺️

In respect for today’s ‘seen in the wild’, I decided to feature a classic Mitsubishi, or Colt Lancer in this week’s small screen scene. Dubbed ‘The Father of all Mitsubishi Rally Cars’ by Larry Chen in this video, the Colt Lancer is where is all started. This example is so clean - the graphics and the spots really make this car stand out.

Podcast of the week 🎙️

I’m sure that Tati and her Defender were featured in an earlier newsletter, her content is so authentic, her passion and enthusiasm for her beloved Land Rover is palpable, this has led to a surge in followers on her Instagram account. In this episode of 'Behind the Glass’, Sam and Tony chat to Tati about her rapid rise to (UK automotive) fame, her love for cars and what’s next. The video is available on YouTube or the audio version on Spotify.

Seen in the wild 👀

Whoever lives in this house has an unhealthy obsession with obscure Mitsubishis, it appears they may have taken on a little too much as they all look like they’d benefit from some TLC. From left to right they have a Mitsubishi Evo V, a Mitsubishi Starion and a Colt Lancer. OK, so the Colt isn’t strictly a Mitsubishi, but it was the brand used to sell Mitsubishis in the UK before they became Mitsubishi, so I think it counts. I’d never heard of a Colt Lancer before, according to How Many Left there are only a handful left on the roads in the UK and there’s only 1 available to buy at the time of writing this edition - it certainly needs some attention, but only has 61k miles on the clock and is listed at £9,250. I like it.
