Spider to Sleeper - Your weekly dose of automotive nourishment

No more tank track swapped cars after this. Probably.

Social spotlight đŸ“±

I’ll make this the last tank track swapped car I share for a while, I promise, but how cute is this Suzuki!? Apparently it’s good in the snow, but I can’t help but feel it looks even more unstable than the original.

Car of the week 💰

I can safely say I’ve never seen one of these on the streets in the UK, but now’s your chance to buy one! It doesn’t share much in common with a McLaren F1, but it does have a central driving position. I’m told its unique style and rarity as a grey import make it a collector's item for microcar enthusiasts. At £7,800 it’s a very cheap way to stand out and have the rarest car on your road.

If you’re someone that’s interested in cars, data and media you’ll find Harry’s annual wrap up of his YouTube channel fascinating. He’s very transparent about his channel’s performance, which videos people watch most and which ones he does as more of a passion project.

Hot off the press 📰

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll have seen this car before. It’s the Skoda sleeper that races to 60 in just over 4 seconds and puts RS4’s to shame. Here’s a comprehensive review from CAR magazine. “It’s 2025 and we should be well past the point where we’re surprised that Skoda has made a great car. But a mapped and slammed Superb Estate with more power than an Audi RS4 probably wasn’t what you were expecting to see from the maker of humble family cars.”

Seen in the wild 👀

This Alfa Spider looked like it had been sat outside for a while, the moss on the roof isn’t a good sign, I can only imagine that the body is hiding all sort of horrors underneath. The ‘barchetta’ styling has grown on me, but it’s better definitely better suited to summer on the continent than street parked on a London street in the winter! Without knowing the condition it’s hard to price this one, but it looks like they’re available from just over £10k, might be worth doubling that for a good example though.
