Would you drive around in a bloated banana?
David Mazzei revs up his custom 5-Rotor Turbo, for the first time! He brings his theory to life - that a 5-rotor engine could mimic the iconic sound of a 1990s V10 Formula car. It also spews flames for good measure.
Car of the week 💰
I don’t know anything about it, and frankly, I don’t like it, but…it’s unusual. The Chevrolet SSR is a goofy looking pickup truck with a 6.0 V8 upfront. So it’s fast, right? Errrrm, it gets to 60 in 5.5 seconds which I guess is respectable and tops out at 125mph. The real selling point is the vast amount of storage in the back. For the roof. Ah yes, it’s a convertible too, with a folding hard-top, so there’s barely any space in the pickup bed either. It’s perfect, if you want to look ridiculous and feel like you need to spend £40k to achieve that.

Two big characters come together, as Chris Harris chats with Gordon Murray about the groundbreaking GMA T.50 and the iconic McLaren F1 that inspired it.
Hot off the press 📰
Audi recently released the Concept C, which showcases their new design language. Apparently this isn’t just a design study though, a model based on this concept is rumoured to be on the way.
Seen in the wild 👀
Porsche aficionados, forgive me if I’m wrong, but I believe this to be a 911 GT3. The fact that I took an artsy photo isn’t helping me to correctly identify it. It was parked up next to a yacht in Monaco, and the wheels caught my eye. A small amount of research suggests that this is the last GT3 to be available in the combination of Mezger-engined + manual gearbox. Available for under £100k, maybe they’re a good buy!?
