Start as you mean to go on - Your weekly dose of automotive nourishment
but rules are made to be broken
Sunday service
The format is simple, each Saturday morning we will land 5 points of interest into your inbox. They’ll be designed to pique your interest across a range of topics; from cars for sale, social accounts that are doing things differently, YouTube videos you can’t miss, car meets worth checking out, podcasts, articles or websites.
Not for the casual fan
We are enthusiasts and as such we are not covering the mainstream. We’re more likely to get excited by a 1995 Fiat Panda 4×4 than the latest supercar. If you’re signing up to this newsletter, expect to see things that are interesting, not necessarily expensive. Rather than wittering on, why not share 5 things which do a better job of explaining what we’re all about.
Car of the week
You can’t say you haven’t been warned…how about the Honda Civic, but not as you know it, or ever knew it. This 1983 “bulldog” model is equipped with a turbocharged 1.2 engine and is packing 110 horses. As if that’s even relevant, just look at those decals and that interior. Stone cold stunner.
Instagram of the week
mildlyinterestingcarsoflondon - their raison d’etre really resonates with us, essentially anything can be interesting, from multi-million pound Ferrari’s to bashed up Renault Twingos.
Video of the week
Edwin of CarThrottle fame and Will from Overdrive have come together to create their own channel, Top Dead Centre. They’ve raced to over 150k subs in just 3 weeks and in their latest vid they buy a farmer spec Range from ‘The Worst City’. Without giving too much away, as a Midlander I feel attacked, albeit probably fairly.
Website of the week
We’re all bored of Wordle by now, so we bring you…Cardle. Can you guess the correct make and model with only 5 visual clues? We don’t like to talk about it, but…yeah, we got it in 1 guess.
Challenge of the week
You are fortunate enough to have £5,000 burning a hole in your proverbial. Rather than earning an incredible 5% interest from a high street bank, you’ve decided that life is short and you want to re-live your youth. You have one simple requirement - hot hatch. Reply to this email and let us know what you find, you may well find yourself featured in a future edition.
