Car of the week 💰

The Smart Crossblade is a limited-edition, roofless and doorless car. It only has a puny 599cc engine but you’re really buying it for its wild styling and wind in the hair face motoring. Only 2,000 were made, so if you fancy owning one this might be your only chance. a 2003 Smart usually costs just over £1,000, but you’ll have to pay a little more for this one.

Small screen scene 📺

A picture tells a thousand words, do I really need to say anything? Petrolicious speak to the owner of this 1984 Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, as close to the factory race car they could make it. It must look tiny on US roads, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with buckets of street presence.

Hot off the press 📰

This listicle features some of the most amazing cars ever to come up for sale - the 20 most expensive cars ever sold at auction. When the bottom of the chart is a McLaren F1, you know you’re in for a treat.

Seen in the wild 👀

I spotted this 1978 TVR Taimar in Leamington Spa. The Taimar was the first TVR with a hatchback for easier access to the boot and preceded the infamous ‘Wedge’ era of TVRs. The 3.0 Ford V6 made less than 150bhp, but due to it’s lightweight it will still get to 60mph in 7.7 seconds which I guess is, sufficient. If you’re brave enough to own a 70’s TVR then it’s likely to set you back more than £20k.
